Op de een of andere manier zijn het vaak tv-series die mij op bepaalde nummers wijzen. Meestal omdat ze het als aftiteling nummer of finale nummer gebruiken. Onlangs deed CSI: New York dat ook weer en wel met het nummer ‘Blood Brothers’ van Bruce Springsteen.
Dus dan ga ik op zoek en probeer het hele nummer te vinden. Op die manier kwam ik er achter dat Iron Maiden een nummer met dezelfde titel heeft, maar daar gaat het deze keer niet over. Bruce Springsteen dus. At your service.

Ha, dit vind ik ook een erg mooi nummer van Bruce. Het is een van de nieuwe nummers op zijn eerste (en niet helemaal perfecte) Greatest Hits album uit 1995. Hij nam dat nummer op met z’n E-Street Band.
Op zijn latere (en nog steeds niet perfecte) The Essential Bruce Springsteen is dit nummer niet meer te vinden, wellicht omdat dit nummer nooit op single is uitgebracht, laat staan een hit geworden is (wat ik eigenlijk wel jammer vind).

Ik kon inderdaad al niet vinden op welk album (buiten die Greatest Hits) het nummer moest staan. Maar dat is dus logisch schijnbaar.
Het is inderdaad een van de mooiere nummers van Bruce. Ik heb de Greatest Hits in de kast staan en nu ik er zo denk, moet ik die maar weer eens opzetten.
